Our argan oil are cold pressed by hand to retain its natural vitamins and qualities. For your convenience, all our products are less than 100ml, making Decillion your ultimate traveling hydration companion too.
On an environmental level, the argan tree provides food, shelter and protection from desertification. The trees' deep roots help prevent desert encroachment. The canopy of argan trees provide shade for other agricultural products and the leaves and fruits provide feed for animals. The argan tree also prevent soil erosion, providing shade for pasture grasses and helping to replenish aquifers.
Local Berber ladies work for fair-trade cooperatives, using the centuries-old technique by cracking the argan nuts between two stones. The raw argan kernels are hand-extracted from the hard shell, hand-grounded in a stone grinder, hand-kneaded and first cold-pressed into the oil. This labour intensive and time consuming method takes one person three days to make one litre of oil, making it so valuable and even dubbed as “liquid gold”. In 1998, the Argan forest in Morocco was designated as a UNESCO protected biosphere so argan oil is sustainable.
Our argan oil also serves a socioeconomic function. Our production is run by women cooperatives and has provided income for women to fund education for themselves and their children. It has provided the women with a degree of autonomy and helped many to be aware of their rights.
